Question for any morph experts..

Bluerosy Jul 22, 2009 12:02 AM

Okay i am having a bit of a problem thinking this one through.
Regarding Florida king morphs...

Anyone know if a lavender albino X T negative albino homozygot have clear red eyes or have a tad of pigment?

I just had a huge clutch from triple het to triple het (T negative X Lavender X anery) hatch. I got lavender albinos , T- negative albinos, true snows, Lavender snows, Anerys, normals . They are pre-shed and i am wondering if I have any T neg x Lavender homozygots. I have a lot of different looking albinos, but it is too soon to tell as long as they are in the blue.

Pic below is of the first T negative snow ("true snow" ever produced in 2008. Last years baby:

or worse yet what would a lavender/T- negative snow look like?

Basically a triple homo - T neg (red eye albino) X lavender albino X Anerythritic.

Hmm , I think it is getting late and I need to stop worrying about such things.

Rainer, several years ago I got a clutch of yellow rats from Don Soderberg that were double(or triple)hets bred back to each other. Red eye and lav eye were more apparant, what I thought to be a double recessive was orangish purple, but I think some of those colors had to do with it being a YELLOW rat. If I had such a clutch I would be asking YOU for help, lol, so I dont know if I can tell you anything absolute. But usually double recessives are a bit different than we expect them to be, dont you agree? You have more experience with T- than anyone, so you should be able to see something. If not, wait til next year! Sorry about the bad pics, 3 cameras and 4 computers later these small pics I cant resize.

A T-negative/lavender should either be identical to a regular T-negative, or show even less evidence of dark pigment than that. They shouldn't look like a lavender at all (the T-neg should wipe all that out).

I am going to wait for the babies to shed. Then I will get pics of each morph within the clutth and see what ya'll think if there is a dbl homo.

With the Peanut Butter x Hypo and all other doble homozygots there was never any question which was a new morph. So far he dbl homos stick out like a sore thumb. Just wondering about the amel gene.

I believe the amelanism would cancel out all (T) so blood would only be visible

I would think that the t_ will be your problem here.It will mask al the other stuff so you will have to do lots of test breeding to see whats what. Cool clutch though.
