Some cool babies from this year.

charleshanklin Jul 22, 2009 04:36 PM

This pair of snakes are locality matched and have put off some really cool babies. I hope these turn out to be genetic and should know with a couple more test breedings. If they do than I think I will call them genetic stripes so they aren't confused with anyone elses line that doesn't know what they are working with.

Here are the parents.

Here are their babies.

Here is one of my male anacondas breeding a couple females.

Here is a big red female that I have.

Here are a few siblings before and after death LOL. They are followed by their mom laying.

why the name stripe? I see lot's of cool patterned snakes, but none with true stripes.. are you refering to the ground color between the spots as being striped? Do you think it would confuse things if a true stripe is produced?

I forgot to add reverse when I was typing. Thinking more about what I was going to eat than what I was doing. I was thinking genetic reverse stripe. Yes it's referring to the background color showing. It's similar to a lot of tigers but completely unrelated to anyone elses stock. I have time and it still has to prove to be genetic before anything else. I have some more eggs on the ground from the male bred to different females. I hope when they hatch to learn more about the genes than.

The hog in pic#6 is HOT! I think "reverse stripe" is a very fitting name. Hope it proves out to be genetic. Please keep us posted.
