Got a Kim today...

mckenzieriverrep Jul 22, 2009 04:46 PM

...Actually yesterday. He is all set up and I am very pleased with him. they are truly amazing animals, and they supersede any expectation that I might have had.

He has a fair size burn on his back that I would like to heal. I believe it has been there for some time. It's only a scar so if it's not fixable, no biggie. Does anybody know of anything that will help with the scar?

Thanks!

What's done is done with a scar. Just keep the basking area as large as the lizard. Those burns occur when the overall cage is cool and there is a small focused beam of hot lighting. The lizards accidentally get skin burns trying to heat up.

Kims are amazing animals for certain!!!! Living works of art:

Oh man, they are amazing! We wanted a breeding trio, but this male popped up in some classified section; anyway it is good practice for when I get breeders.

You were the one that just hatched some out right? Big congrats!

I'll snap a pic of his enclosure. I flipped a melamine cupboard on it's side and converted it into a cage. It's pretty sweet! Temps: Hot spot is on a rock structure, with the hottest spot 120 and the coolest spot 90, the cold side is 80-82.

Cheers!
