Super pastel????

chongorojo Jul 24, 2009 07:04 PM

I got two eggs from my pastel X odd looking pastel female. I have had 2 guys say super pastel but I don't know? What do you guys think? I got 1.1 and I will hold both back to try and prove them out in a few years any ways but if they are just pastels I will have to say they are super bright for not being super pastels!!!!

Brian from that pic it looks like a regular pastel. It doesnt seem like there is enough blushing to me, but I could be wrong. Its a lil smoker though.

Yea I am not so convinced that they are supers but wanted some opinions before I condemn them. Anyway like I said I will hold them unless they darken a lot. This is the boy he has blushing but not like I imagined a super would have, but these are my first pastel/super pastel hatchlings.

It looks like a regular pastel to me. a very nice pastel but there is not enough blushing to convince me its anything more than a pastel. Nice animal though and time will tell.

if the contrast was a bit stronger, it'd almost look like a yellowjacket.

looks really clean. nice - congrats.

I'm also wondering combo. Is your "odd looking pastel female" from a proven pastel line or an import? Maybe she is something else and these are the combo of pastel and whatever mom is?

chongorojo Jul 27, 2009 05:03 PM

That's what I've came to the conclusion of, I never really thought she was a pastel or het red but she has 5 neat markers that make me beleve she is something different but similar to a vanilla but who knows out of 2 eggs I got two super clean baby pastels great odds but poor clutch size I will hve to breed her some more to find out there is a pic of mom father down under this topic.

I am certainly not an expert but that is far from a normal Pastel but so different from the Super too. I am with a couple of the guys on the new Morph mix of some kind or the YellowJacket.. It looks a lot like the first YJ I saw a couple of years ago.. Whatever they are, a HUGE congrats on some awesome looking babies.

She was a farm baby that I bought as a normal for 50.00 last year. When I first seen her I thought there was something different about her not quite a HRA not quite a cinny or black so I thought maybe a filthy pastel???? She does have the pastel eyes just not super bright but you can see the whole Iris top and bottom she has the clear belly, spotted head but not blushed, and a little yellow right next to her sides. I really did not think I would get anything "special" out of her but thought why not throw a pastel on her? She only laid the two eggs so thanks for the odds lol Well those babies are clean and bright so I will breed her next year to her son??? Maybe another clean up specialist? Thanks for every ones opinions man I love these brian busters ..........

That is not a pastel, not even the super dirty ones that were produced early looked like her (she is prettier IMO). You may have something with that female so I'd keep her and definately the male and try to see if she is able to prove out. Either way, good luck.
