The UTH pads available in stores around here prices have gotten outrageous, and i don't want to pay what they are asking for. I'm sure i can use an alternative for much less the cost. I have heard about heat tape, but don't know anything about it. Where do i get it, how do i use it? Anyone know any other alternatives, preferably ones that won't start fires...

Go to www.thebeanfarm.com, they have heat tapes and the accessories you need to ge the heat tape to work. In addition they also sell the ultratherm heat pads which I think it's even better than the heat strip. No wiring required, your container/cage just sits on top of the pad, no adhesive to deal with or worrying about leaving spaces in between for heat exchange. It's very well made and don't cost too much.
