Savannah Monitor wont use it.

ypseye Jul 26, 2009 02:41 AM

Hello I need help with my Savannah Monitor. Hes about 2.5 months old and he's not letting go of his waste. He was using it fine,in his water bowl for a while, but him not using it has been for about a week.I feed him crickets and pinkys. His last pinky was on wed. And still no waste. His stomach is getting bigger. I don't want to feed him until he uses it. I need advice please.

To start it is probably dehydrated it is defecating in the water bowl every time. Go to proexotics.com and get your husbandry up to par. If that does not help go see a vet.

That's almost always caused by dehydration. If the cage humidity level is too low, they'll dehydrate no matter how much drinking water you they have.
