Spider Ball acting weird

rcrooks Jul 26, 2009 08:54 AM

Has any one seen a ball curled up and have its head up side down? Does this mean anything?

Sounds exactly like a spider to me!
Spiders are "special" in that they do things that other ball pythons dare not do. They're really the trend-setters of the ball python world.

most spiders do this ...some way worse than others...when I had a partner before we had aquired a bumblebee male...thats when I 1st saw it...we had owned a spider female for 3 years and I never saw it with her...you can buy spiders were you do not see this...I have aquired a bumblebee female and have yet to see her do it thank god.

at a 45 degree angle? Because if it's not completely upside down...it's not normal for a spider!

Hi,

It sounds like a form of cork Screwing. I have a spider that when it was young it would cork screw every time it would touch a hairy surface. If it touched my arm or leg it would cork screw. Now that it is bigger it does not do it anymore. If it does this a lot and always has its head upside down that would seem weird to me. I would not like that in any of my snakes. Did you just buy it? I would try and return it if it is a new snake and was sold to you as a normal behaved snake. Good luck.
