Hey John Fraser..

mtkingdave Jul 26, 2009 01:46 PM

I ran into our old buddy Adam and he was walking the area around your carport with a stubby light. I figured he was just searching for alterna (as we all know your carport is a proven locale) but it turns out he was only collecting your med geckos. He had a jar full!

Poor John was blaming all the feral cats in town for getting his med geckos. Turns out it was his good buddy Adam taking them all!!!LOL.

John Fraser Jul 26, 2009 08:34 PM

Why, that little gecko hog, I'm gonna havta place restrictions on how many geckos he thinks he needs....LOL

mtkingdave Jul 26, 2009 10:27 PM

I couldn't resist. Adam said he'd been teasing you about "stealing" your geckos, so I had to stir the pot a little.

I am really sorry I haven't run into you in the last few years. Hopefully we'll meet again in West Texas soon!

Dave

That picture is awesome, you dont see many that show off their camo on natural background like that!

Dave, Good to hear from you, yeah we will cross paths again in transpecos, thats a given. Its such an honor to have a known collection point for alterna on my carport, it draws alterna people like flies, lol. I would feel neglected without some pot stirring, LOL! I also like pot stirring, the real talent is doing it without it spilling over on yourself, right? LOL Later, John ~

....again if you don't mind. What an awesome shot!

Here it is:

Here is a "In-Situ" or as found photo of a 16" female graybanded kingsnake that I found at my carport in Sanderson, Texas, on July 5, 2005, at 12:10am, 82F. I was walking around my carport that night actually just looking at the meditterrain geckos when I spotted this great looking blairs, clinging to the side of the carport, only 6" off the ground.

didn't that alterna crawl over from my yard?

Casey

uhhh, maybe.....

StuTennyson Jul 29, 2009 05:25 PM

is your garage? Are you sure that would not be classified as collected on the "row"? Better check your city ordinance!

John Fraser Jul 29, 2009 10:04 PM

is your garage? Far enough Are you sure that would not be classified as collected on the "row"? Am sure, I pay the taxes, lol... Better check your city ordinance! Got that base covered to..

StuTennyson Jul 30, 2009 08:47 AM

what locality would this be considered? How far away could you find another and still be considered the same locality for breeding purposes? Would it have to be from the same block, street or maybe zip code? What if it came from a neighbors house down the street? We could call it a Fraser garage blairi morph or a Lazik backyard alterna morph! What about the front yard verses the backyard? Maybe we could classify localities by zip codes or GPS? Lol

John Fraser Jul 27, 2009 10:41 PM

Here is a daytime photo of the Southwest corner of my carport, that is located in Sanderson, Texas. It was on the side of this carport near this corner, where I placed a red line, where I had found the 16" blairs the night before

jon101 Jul 28, 2009 10:45 AM

john, u could of saved your money instead of buying those 500 acres of land in sanderson, theres more alternas around your house that on the land, lol!

John Fraser Jul 28, 2009 04:55 PM

At least they have been easier to find at my house rather than on that land that has at least 100 on it....... LOL!

jon101 Jul 28, 2009 09:12 PM

a 100 of what? nite snakes??????

Sweetman Jul 27, 2009 03:04 PM

Now to defend my position, I was only photographing them. However, I did have to wait for the cats to finish eating a couple of them. His carport looked like a cat super highway.

John Fraser Jul 27, 2009 06:21 PM

Sounds like cat season is gonna open up soon there, probably right about the time dove season opens, LOL! later JF
