Montana Horned Lizards

Rich_M Jul 26, 2009 10:11 PM

Went out to one of our favorite spots Friday afternoon to see if we could find some horned lizards to prove to Dan Eby that we didn't just take him out into the hills on a wild goose chase. We found all of these within about 40 yards of where we were parked Dan, what a difference a few degrees make.

It took my kids about 20 mins to gather up this tub full.

These heavy weights look like they will be giving birth soon

This guy was hiding in a prairie dogs hole.

These two were bobbing there heads at each other, was quite amusing, also shows how well that they blend into their surroundings.

One last shot.

Take Care

Rich

must be nice! I have to really travel to see horned lizards now, the fire ants and human encroachment has extirpated them from my old haunts.

Wow, I'd love to find that many in such short of time.

Good looking wild geese. Thanks for sharing.

I have yet to see a "horny toad" in the wild.
