I was told by one of the aids (I believe it was the one for tom rooney) that he was going to change it just to the importation of burms. Now I did deal with some aids that didn't even know what the bill was about, but most of them were nice, polite, and knew what was going on. Did anyone else get told this?

Yes, the aid for Rooney is doing an internship for the summer and is a student at my alma mater. He told me that Rooney is drafting the amendment, so other members of the committee (or at least their aids) may have been unaware. Rooney's aid added that he thought the amendment would "pass no problem.". I can only hope he was only parroting the opinion of the congressman and that he is, in fact, correct.

I was told the same by Rooney's aide! He said, they realize that the genus "Python", was way too broad and were re-writing as "importation of Burmese python"!

While that is a win for all other pythons...kinda sucks for Prehistoric pets. They breed a lot of Retics and big snakes.

if this passes you'll start seeing a lot of people dumping their larger boids.
