Hi All,

I have not posted anything lately, just raising my breeders from hatchlings.
Finally hatched a Pastave last week!

NERD Lemon Pastel Female X Mojave Male

Hatched: 1 Pastave, 3 Mojave, 3 NERD Lemon Pastels, no Normals.

Looks good Rob. We hatched our first one last season and he bred a couple of females this season but it does not look like they took. Here is a pic of him when he was a hatchling. He is now at about 600 grams. I just love the pastave's. We produced ours from a Mojave 50% pos het for ghost bred to a Pastel 50% het for ghost. We are hoping this guy is actually a pastave ghost. He sheds clear like the ghost do and is just screaming gorgeous. In these pics he looks very black on the borders but now those areas are very subtle.

Very nice looking male and lots of blushing. If he sheds clear then that would mean he is a Pastave Ghost and Sire and Dam are both 100% het Ghost? Are you trying to breed Super Pastel Mojave Ghosts (with a Pastel Ghost Female perhaps)?

We are planning on breeding him to his mother next year to see exactly what we can produce as well as to a few other special project females.

You should have some very interesting clutches hatch next year!

Congrats Rob! That's a nice Pastave. Good luck with those het x het Piebald eggs.

Hi Louis,

That has been a while, how are your projects coming along and do you still have the females you got from me?
I had no luck with my het x het Pied breeding last season, just all 50% het pieds (unless Peter Kahl sent me "normals" instead of hets 4 years ago, which I doubt...). This year I have a 7 egg clutch so I'm thinking I may have some more luck this time around."Can hardly wait until August 18.

We got a late start on the laying season. Our first clutches are due to hatch the first week of August and then we should see babies hatching every 3-7 days for the next month or so. We still have some clutches to be laid.

Both of your females bred this season. One has already laid her eggs and the other is due in August.

Congrats again on the Pastave and we'll keep our fingers crossed for you to hatch some Piebalds. Keep us posted.

Glad to hear the females are doing well. What did you breed them to? Sounds like you have at least 6 or 7 clutches?
I'll keep you posted on the Pieds.

The one that has already laid was bred to a Super Sable. Her clutch was the first one laid this year. The other female was bred to a Calico and a Lesser.
