E.c.assisi Pics

yani45 Jul 28, 2009 12:09 AM

Hey all-

I just imported this pair of captive bred assisi and I thought I would share the pics.
The male has got some killer black spots on his side with some nicely contrasted pattern.

The female is a nice, reddish color...

Jeff,

Easy to get grammatically distracted when looking at such nice
and unusual snakes! They seem to have a fairly strong resemblance to my alvarezi. Any idea what the defining characteristics are?? I've never had much luck finding literature on the lesser known E. cenchria sub-species.

Thanks,
Ed

I spoke with my partner from whom I get these guys and here's what he said:

"Alvarezi are thinner, smaller, and the shape of the head is not elongated.

They also live in arid regions but not tropical year round."

Here are a couple pics of the alvarezi I brought in and sold last year... I think I posted them here before...

Wow, those are awesome. The male is extra awesome with that contrasting pattern. Congrats and thanks for sharing, don't get to see pics of these guys very often.

Thanks,
Ed
