just a thought on HR 2811

doesn't this go against the 14 amendment of the constitution? here is part of it:

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

aren't pythons property? and there is not any evidence proving they are dangerous and a threat, so why is this bill even here?

passing this law would deny us of our property and is therefore unconstitutional

While it is a good point, and I do agree with you, one could argue that things that are already illegal, like drugs, are property and should be protected by the constitution.

Besides that, the Governemnt has a history of wiping its a@$ with the Constitiution whenever it needs to.

Please believe me that I am TOTALLY against this bill, but I think the fact that it needs to be passed by the House and the Senate is "due process".

Showing as much scientific evidence (or lack of) is key to helping those politicians in deciding their vote. We also need to voice our opinions as citizens that those politicians are supposed to represent.

Also, they are not just making an arguement against being a danger to HUMANS, but there is a huge arguement that they are a danger the the environment. That is why a bill that states, "ALL PYTHONS" is devastating. It is only the Burmese, and only in Florida, that it is a problem. It should be a local issue, not a Federal one (in my opinion).

I am thankfull for organizations like USARK.

It would really depend on what is deemed as 'property' within the constitution. It may only refer to non living objects (ie house, furniture etc).

Five words: "without due process of law" - as long as these bills go through the system according to our governing laws they can ban anything they can get a majority vote for.

They are doing "due process" now. That is what they do in congress. Further, it is the feds doing it not "any State".

Get out your high school government textbook and re-read it.

Yes this is wrong! It is not all our fault! I believe that a lot of this snakes originated from animals that were set free by hurricane Andrew when it blew through Homestead and I personally can think of 1 reptile dealer that lived there and had a bunch of different animals in 10' by 12' sheds. These sheds were awesome. Tons of ventilation set up very nice very clean not any hotter than standing in your garage. Well built, 2x4's and 3/4" plywood not the cheap metal things you find at the diy places.But everyone saw what the storm did to houses there was no way that these things
would have stood up to it. Who knew that such an act of nature would have done this. I had no idea. Sorry for the rant. But if the government knew what was good for the American public not what they think is good for us, they would offer a finance class along with sex ed so that people would have an idea how to manage money ( this especially includes me I had to learn the hard way also). I could go on and on but i would probably get into some sort of trouble.

p.s. If you want to read something else interesting read the 2nd paragraph of the constitution. Regular working class people we need to stick together to protect what are fore fathers worked for, faught for, died for.
