damn......ok for a couple days? Long term maybe?

I'm a little bit mad, my leos UTH just stopped working, i have no clue why (it is pretty old though). Stupid thing.
Anyway, I dont get payed til wedsday or thursday so would a human heat pad be ok? I put it under and the ground temp read 95, but I can get it down if i put some towels or something inbetween or something. I really dont see why not aslong as the ground temp is about 90, so Im sure it'll be fine for two or three days. But would it be ok long term? Dont mind buying another one just dont wanna buy it if th human one would work fine. Its actually quite nice since it doesnt stick to the botton, its like a little blanket that i can just slide under the tank. Dont think my mom'l like that but oh well.
Also, do you guys use JUST UTH or red lights too? I use a red light, since at night she lays on top of her humid hide under the lamp. It only gets the air temp to around 84-87 instead on 90, but I have the UTH so I asume thats ok?
Sorry for all the questions. The cage is a little crowded so would it be ok just to put the humid hide in when shes getting ready to shed? Just wondering
Thanks
Later
Mac

I have heard other people using heating pads made for human to get-by but I don't know about being long-term. I personally don't like UTH because once you stick it onto the bottom of your tank, you really shouldn't unpeel it because the heating elements could crack by peeling. I like the Ultratherm heat pads that The Bean Farm carries, no sticking and no air space for heat exchange needed, just sit the tank directly on top of the heat pads and that's it. I have 8 of these heat pads and I love them more than my heat tapes.

Sure you can use them long term but I would get one that can be adjusted to 90 degrees on its own. There is an article on using them on boaphile plastics site (I'm pretty sure they're a sponsor but I forgot to check before posting). Also I think Starling has experience with them.

people do use them long term but I would not (just me). I use a red light along with UTH in my 65 gallon they lay under it at night too. As long as you belly temp is 88 to 90 you will be fine.
