What the heck!!??

perfectpredators Jul 30, 2009 11:27 AM

Hello everyone here's the story: last year I bred a male sold to me as a DH Sunglow to a Kahl Albino only to find I was lied to when a full litter of hypos and normals were born and not a single albino. At second glance i was a bit less upset as the babies were born very colorful and aberrant. I figured this year I will run a test to see if the sellers, which disappeared from the planet and whos name i dont want to mention, failed to mention they're Sharps. Worse case, I figured, when bred to each other they may produce really aberrant and colorful animals. heres what happened last year:

Sire:

Dam:

and here's this year:

Although im super super happy it would of been nice that these people would just been honest, it took me 2 years and 2 breedings to unveil all the doubts and deciet. I can assume these are from one of the many aberrant lines out there and I will have to just name some of these animals as a new aberrant line now as who knows whats happend here at this point. I would of purchased those animals when I did regardless as they were so extraordinary on their own merit regardless of het for Albino or not. At the end of the day I must say one of these animals look like an Aztek for the love of God and maybe this all happened for a reason. If anyone has any leads or knows by looking at the adults anything they were both 2005 animals and I'd like to know what you know.

Thank you,
Manny

They do look familiar. I might have been skeptical that they were hets just because of how nice they are. Too bad they didn't prove but the babies sure look nice anyway.

I like this picture the best I think:

The contrast with the other babies is mind boggling!

That tail reminds me an Angolan Python Mr. Manny!

Good one Jeff!! If you notice it on the picture of the "baby soup" it looks like an angolan python snuck up and joined the litter. the animal is in the far left corner of the pic. it was a shock when i first saw it for sure. thanks for the boost towards these babies!!

tcdrover Jul 30, 2009 02:15 PM

That baby looks MUCH more special than a sharp sunglow.

Those babies look very nice, you may have gotten a better deal
than you thought.

perfectpredators Jul 30, 2009 02:22 PM

very nice of you to say that. this means a lot to me. thank you sincerely!

Shane Kinney Jul 30, 2009 03:11 PM

Manny, those parents and babies are smoking hot!! Congrats!!

perfectpredators Jul 30, 2009 03:22 PM

thank you!! all this has been an interesting run for sure.

AbsoluteApril Jul 30, 2009 03:11 PM

Beautiful babies! So much variety and such a wide range of looks and color, big congrats!

I was a little confused, the first time you bred the sire to a kahl albino female and got hets? The second time he was bred to the hypo posted? Was the female hypo a het sharp? I just wasn't clear on that part.

Anyways and regardless, those are some smoking babies! Hope you share some post-shed pics with us.
Take care,
-April

thank you april for the great compliments! i bred him last season to a 2003 albino and got zilch white snakes. this year as a back up run, i went brother to sister as i had no mature sharps. what you see is what popped out. all very interesting. thank you again april!

AbsoluteApril Jul 30, 2009 03:50 PM

aha, that makes perfect sense! Thanks for the info. The parents are amazing in their own right and just goes to show that breed nice looking parents and get killer looking babies!

I produced the original parents in 2005. Can you post any more pictures of them.....They look very familiar, That would make them from the Cyclone Line.

I am still looking for more pictures of the litter I produced in 2005.

They were very orange as babies, base color saddles and tail blotches all peachy orange. Also saddles were "butterfly" shaped, the cyclones I've seen have silverish base color and fineline type saddles with red tail blotches. See if you have anything like what I described in your past litters that would explain alot. I definitely wanna plug the cyclone to something from this litter....thanks Robert!
