Dry Food pellets

shottz Jul 30, 2009 02:57 PM

So i feed superworms/greens every other day for my adult, but i bought some Exo-Terra adult dragon pellet food and was wondering a good change in the rotation, it says feed pellets every day and dusted insects every 2 weeks. That seems a little long of time without insects. Any recommendations? Also, I think it might work on helping dehydration because my dragon have never drank from bowl, he gets all his water from greens, or at least I have NEVER seen him drink from bowl, he won't even drink from water dripping on head, never has.

thanks in advance

here is a link to the food i got

This is just my opinion, your mileage may vary....

The manufacturers of commercial diets want you to buy more commercial diets. They want you to feed pelleted food exclusively and just supplement with whole food. Naturally, the label will say to feed daily.

My preference is to feed a whole diet of greens/insects and to supplement with the dry pellets. I might feed the pellets when I need to go to the store and get fresh greens, sprinkled on a salad as a treat, or for the pet-sitter when I'm on vacation.

My beardies do not drink water either. I just fed them moistened greens and make sure the crickets are hydrated.
