WHAT ABOUT THIS IDEAL!!

UV sterilizer wand...I just got one in today..supposedly kills and /or deactivates an impressive array of all sorts of stuff like dust mites, bacteria, viruses etc.. all by just shinning this cool purple light around. I think it will be useful during spot cleaning..remove the snake..sterilize the cage..heck you can even sterilize the water with it while it's still in the bowl. While no substitute for real cleaning this could prove useful in helping maintain a higher level of cleanliness than normally possible with cleaning agents etc..
I think this thing will have a 100 useful uses in my snake room.

I wonder if it would be good to sterilize WC scents with..should work well..any thoughts!!!

Hi,Justin. On my opinion it is good idea use it,BUT you have to
be careful big NO for "all by just shinning this cool purple light around" because kids(animals)in room.it is hard UV rays.
so like in saltwater aquarium you can use it but put this lamp
in blk pipe(tube) and fan have to blow through this pice of
pipe. This is idea and you can figure out now youself
Good day Sergei

.the UV wand I bought is made for this application and came with safety glasses and plenty of safety instruction..I am not about to go shinning this light on anything but items that need to be cleaned...

Sorry Justin I´m sure that this will not work.
especialy the desinfection of the water. Think about that they make the whater thin to 5mm in the UV-lamps for water-tanks.

Are your tubs so big (or the lamp so smal) that you can take take the whole lamp inside and in contact with the ground?

I will try my best to explane my thoughts

1. In the UV-lamps for aquariums the water flows around in an thick from round about 5mm. So thats the reason why I think it will not work to sterilice the water in the cup

2. the pic in your link look like you have to lay the lamp on the surface that you like to sterilice. So I´m sure it will not work to hold the UV-lap over the tub.

Here's a topic on this site that I actually know a few things about. I have been in the HVAC business for nearly 16 years and indoor air quality is a huge topic in my industry.
One thing to consider is the intensity and Quality of the bulb.
most bulbs on the market are not of the best quality.
With a high quality bulb you can expect no more then a year of effective bulb life, and also know that Most advertised results for UV treatment are done within 1" of the bulb. If you read that your light will kill 95% of a specific germ or mold spore, the results for particles that pass even two inches away could only have a 60% kill rate.
I highly recomend looking into a product made by RFG, called the gaurdian air. It can be ordered in direct plug in model and they work under an added priciple. WORKS. overnight you will be able to smell the differnce in your snake room.
And best of all, No Ozone and perfectly safe for the animals.
Mine is placed right over the roach colony.
Do some research and you'll want one too.
I gotta put kids to bed
