Hatched & hatching milk serpents

terryd Aug 01, 2009 07:01 PM

I've been very busy this summer, but that didn't stop a few eggs from hatching.

I had 16 taylori hatch out late spring. And not a bad looking one in the lot. Here are a few of the parents.

Start off w/ this great looking adult female, who dropped 8 eggs.
Garfield co.

The male she was bred to. Garfield co.

This big female also dropped 8 eggs. Garfield co.

The yellow male that bred her. Garfield co.

Taylori neonates from the pairings above.

This Hwy 118 TX. celaenops is one of seven.

Mama celaenops, Hwy 118 TX.

Papa celaenops, Hwy 118 TX.

I posted these Marion co. syspila a few weeks ago, but here are a few better photos of the neonates, and their cherry heads.

Thank God for Pale milk snakes. And this is one of the best from 2009. Bighorn co. MT

The sire, Granit face. Bighorn co.

The dame. The day I found her. Bighorn co.

And a little better shot today.

I have these tangerine het for nothing Hondurans pipping right now. Do you think the bad looking egg will pop a neonate?

Peace -Dell, Amazon co. Brazil

Dell

Great Stuff!! Those taylori are sweet. 1.1 will do me fine, thanks for asking. LOL Those taylori are outstanding.

That pale that you posted is really nice too. I like the deep red on it.

Of course those syspila are great as well and always my favorite. How about posting the dam and sire to those babies?

Let us know if you get a hondo out of that egg. I have 3 eggs that look similar that I am keeping in the oven just in case. There's always hope!

Joe, the right canal in south Miami aint that far. Shoot, they are in the fish store down the street, put em in your backyard! LOL

Joe_M Aug 02, 2009 09:47 AM

An 7 or 8 pound butterfly in FL would be nice. I saw a few small ones in a canal when I was down in Ft. Lauderdale for a Pats game a few years back. Nothing like a 20 pound speckled from Venezuala or Brazil!

Scohfield,I gotta say, a canal in south Miami is a far cry from the jungles of the Amazon. But what ever turns your crank.

Suribem, we ate him up.

I was making a joke of course. But at the same time pointing out the perils of releasing non natives.

terryd Aug 02, 2009 12:26 PM

Yes, of course.

...the peacock you are holding...it has spots and vertical lines on the sides....right below the dorsal fin is a rounded line....

anyways....when I looked at the pic my brain read the word HELP on the side of that fish...kind of a fitting message from him....but hmmm.....

.....yes....it's 4:20 and I am just setting down.....I was mostly in rodent and snake rooms since 5:30 this morning, worked a show yesterday for total of 14 hour day or more....???

yes...I need to go fishing...!!!!...(I am on vacatyion for two weeks now so.....hmmmmm.....wish I could drive to the Amazon OR Miami quickly....LOL).......I'll settle for Susquehanna cats ,eyes, or even creek trout....(chubs might be the total catch this week>>>...

good luck....nice fish....that cat is sweet.....!

Jeff,
Why are you checking out the properties in my photos?
Snoopy, snoopy.
They are not intergrades, taylori & syspila dont' crossover the same habitat. It's just the file name I put the photos in.

Peacocks are great to eat.

But not as good as a milk snake. -Dell

...you are lucky that milk didn't like sort of pee in your mouth.......ouch...

snooping NO.....I save alot of pics in a simple right click file and save whatever....anyways...it says save pic as...and said...taylori/syspila.....that's why I just asked.....

I don't use pics I just look at them and drool alot of times.....balls,milks, ratsnakes, all kinds of pics....cool stuff or unusual mostly.....I don't post MY pics (are none) so I surely can't /won't post other people's pics.....

someday maybe one will come in handy......not so far.....some stuff I can't even figure out what they are...alot of people don't put names on them and I don't remember which 3 or 4 way morph it is....(balls).....

........Good Luck....

(anyone know if there is a Johnson Co, MO AND ,a Johnson CO, Ill ? where reds are from both????).....saw a MO at show yesterday ,adult female....wild...2 actually....hmmmm////????

........did not buy either.....

Rough life on your side of town, huh?! Jeezus... That's one of my favorite posts in a long time! The taylori are simply amazing (and F3 animals, to boot!), and the syspila are mind blowing, but that little one out of Granit Face's clutch is one nice pale! Those little "het-fer-nothing" Hondurans are always a joy to see, too. Their older siblings are looking super nice. Next time you're over, remind me to get them out to show you.

-Cole

terryd Aug 02, 2009 11:27 AM

Thanks Cole, I thought you'd like it. The taylori hatched out this year would be F4 stock. Great animals to work w/.

Talk to you soon, -Dell

Keeping this fishing theme going.
