Odd Super Sulfur

Emberball Aug 02, 2009 12:21 PM

This snake just hatched out, full yellow "blotch stripe" and purple speckles on its back. That is not vermiculite

Lousy pics, I will take some better ones once it sheds. Has anyone hatched out a Lucy like this one? Is it a paradox because of the dots?

Thanks everyone, for the kind words. I hope these new pics can better translate the look of the snake, it is just amazing in person. It looks like it has a G Stripe or Ivory stripe down its back, inside the orange blotch stripe. The speckles make for an interesting look. Don't forget to click on the IMAGE link at the bottom of this pic, for a second pic.

That is very cool. I have a fire x fire clutch that will be hatching in a few days. I like the pure white black eyed lucies, but I wouldn't mind hatching one of those. Congrats.

EmberBall Aug 04, 2009 08:31 PM

Good luck with your clutch, be sure to post pics.

Is going to be like the ivorys and produce a lot of "paradox" animals. Has sulfur been proven to be fire? Has enough sulfur to sulfur been done to see the results or is fire and sulfer the same genetic animal? Sorry for the newb questions but I don't look at the black eyed stuff much . . . .just does nothing for me, now the fire x pastel is different lol.

Sulfur x Sulfur has been done by Eric last year. He got a clean Lucy and a blotchy one. This is the first time the original Sulfur female has been bred by a Sulfur. Original female might have a hidden gene, or might just have an odd look because she is older than dirt. Pics are old pics of the Sulfur original female....last pic has a Ghost too, look close

The Sulfur and the Fire crosses have looked similar.

Love it Dave, if we could somehow work on color variation on the blotches, much more potential then with the other pure white balls.

Beautiful, thanks for sharing

Congrats Dave. That thing is sweet. Maybe that is what the Super Sulfurs really look like when they are by themselves. Hopefully I can make on of those this coming year. I still love the Sulfur project.

So you held back some Sulfur females or did you get some from Sean? Good luck man, I hope this is genetic and you get a few of em! Any updated pics of your male? The only adult Sulfur non cross that I have is the original, and none of the babies that I have seen pics of have grown up to have her maroon hypo look.

Sounds like you are having a good year, good luck with the Mystics! I should be doing Mystic male x Sulfur Mojave female this year.

So, I am thinking this is the only Lucy with the odd speckles? I hope it is genetic, this look has really grown on me...and the wife loves it

I really like it, no matter what is the reason for the dots... being genetic or not... all that yellow blotching is very cool... if you could somehow get to produce more yellow blotching (at least by selectively breeding), that would be very cool!

Congrats, that's a very nice animal!

Regards,
Bristen.
