Some people push there females and to 6 to 6 1/2ft in 2 1/2years and then introduce a male. They usually get a small litter this way. I heard of stories who breed a 2 1/2 year old and they get no babies, or the gravid snake died. I dont recommend breeding one at that age. Its alot safer and healthier for the animal to breed at 3 1/2years old and around 6 1/2ft. Im sure 95% of the breeders would agree with me. It makes for a healthy litter.

Age has just as much if not more to do with having a healthy breeding female than size alone....males are the same with less importance to size.

I prefer my female Bcc to be 5 years of age and at least 6' the males need to be at least three before I would even try them and preferably at least 4.5' in length.I have a female BCC that is six years old this year...she is a little over 6' and will be tried for the first time this season

Muscular boas tend to be healthier breeders that obese boas IMO.
