Lost and Found

snake_bit Aug 04, 2009 12:15 PM

This snake escaped on me in the winter of 05/06
Last week I found her on top one of my set rat trap out in the garage. I was shocked she was still alive as I live in new york and was tempting fate further by laying on top of the trap.

She took 6 fussies so far this week

Doug,

That's an amazing story, man! I guess that goes to show how hardy they really are, huh?!

So that's the one huh. Looks like ya got her fattened up already Doug. Cannot believe that trap did not go off on her. Good looking girl and I am glad you found her. She must have been eating something around there for all that time though. You missing any ringneck or worm snakes around the house?

Doug,

That is unfricken believable. Wow, what a story. I can't believe it didn't wander off...was it dipping into your mouse colony at night or something?

don't be too eager to grow her up or to make up for lost time. her metabolism has no doubt been very very slow for the past three years, and feeding a lot--like a food item every day--could upset things. You might wanna slow down so your happy story doesn't have an unhappy ending.
