My first snake!

JonDubbya Aug 05, 2009 03:25 PM

Well, just picked up my first snake from the wheaton show on the 1st, Picked up this little fella, hes a Lesser 50% PH Ghost

Tell me what you think as far as his quality, id like to know as he is a future breeder i hope

Also, if anyone would care to share their opinions on the funnest projects i could involve him in, Im all up for a little brainstorming session.

And one final thing, does anyone have a picture of a Lesser x Cinnamon, it seems so simple but ive scoured the net to no avail for a pic of one, i really like the idea of eliminating the yellow in a lessers pattern leaving just a bronzish snake with high white blushing, and if any mix comes to mind, thats it..

Sorry for the pic quality, will post another if you want

Well at least you got the background in focus...lol. The carpet and the AC vent look clear as a bell... Not picking at you, just funning with you on the picture. Im not sure if its been dont as far as a Cinnie,Lesser mix but I am sure it must have been done.. I think if you want the washed out look and want to get rid of the yellow how about trying a Pastel to Cinnie mix for the Pewter... I always here everyone saying they love the yellows in the Lessers and even more in the Butters. I have 2 Lessers of my own and might want to pick up a Butter or two along the way just to have the brighter yellows.. I bet it could be an interesting combo to make the Lesser Cinnie if someone has not already done it. Jay from Sunny AZ.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the yellows, i just like the idea of a snake that sort of looks like a super cinny, but more of a reddish bronze, and the high white blushing from the lesser gene, some of that coloring is there in cinnies, and its my hope that it ends up that way.

BUT

This is why i got a male, and why im happy he might be a ghost as well

Id like to breed him to 3 females when hes ready:

a pastel
a cinny
and a woma

Start cross breeding those into the others moms and you have some possible sick combos, add ghost to any of them and you have some tasty snakes IMO
