Feeding

garth_905 Aug 05, 2009 06:27 PM

My bearded dragon will be a year old at the end of the month and I was wondering when i can start feeding her crickets every other day opposed to every day.

Thanks.

14 months is fine as a cut off date to stop feeding crickets or other insects daily. IT is fine to still have some crickets or other insects every day, just limit them to only about 10-20% of the total food intake for the day. 2-3 feedings a week is fine if you rather not have insects fed every day.

How much does she weigh? I'd make the decision based on an adult weight rather than time since dragons may=ture at such different rates. I still feed my babies from last May every day but at 500 I could stop at any time. I usually slow down when their enthusiasm for live food slows down.
