Hurricane Isabel

StephF Sep 15, 2003 08:32 PM

I know that there are a few posters besides myself who live on the East coast in the projected path of this storm.
I wondered if anyone had any plans for their outdoor creatures?
We're considering bringing our herd inside for the duration.
Should be very interesting...

my group isn't back outside yet so I dont have to worry about them, the only ouside critters I have right now are ducks and I dunno what I'm gonna do with them,
we're only supposed to get the edge of it here (NW MA) but who knows..

I have no plans for them. I will go out and collect food dishes, put away anything not tied down, and generally clean up, but they should do fine on their own barring my house or fence being destroyed.

My dogs will likely be hiding in the closet. Any storms send them in there.

I was going to grab my guys and head for the hills (Mom's house in Aiken, actually) but it looks like Isabel is headed north of SC. I do take my turts in when there's a hurricane heading toward us, but we're only 15 miles from the coast. If another Hugo hit us, they would be in a tree in the next county if left outside.

When I posted the original message, Isabel was still a category 5 hurricane. Last time I checked she'd been downgraded to a category 2, which means our herd will probably stay outside after all.
Always a good idea to have a plan for the critters, too.
