Double clutch Hondos

RobHaneisen Aug 05, 2009 08:30 PM

The first couple years I was breeding hondos I always got them to double clutch. Then they started laying later and later each year ad not wanting to hatch out babies in December, I held off attempting to double clutch. Well, this year they laid a little early so I tried double -clutching the first female who laid a nice clutch of 7 eggs on June 5. After her next shed I put her back in with my tang. albino male and she laid a second clutch on Aug. 3 of 5 good eggs. Her first clutch is also dimpled and should hatch any day. Here she is shortly after laying that second clutch.
