The five year old in me is out......

Jeremy Pierce Aug 05, 2009 09:11 PM

I can't help it. This guy hatched out last weekend and looks awesome! Super fat, one perfect head. Both heads flick their tongues. It is going into shed now so next week I will try to feed. I rested the majority of my girls this year and what eggs I did get didn't do well, so getting this guy makes me feel better as well as make the sense of wonder and amazement come out in full force. I plan on getting x-rays done once he is established. I am interested in the structure of where the heads join. I will post a picture of it when I get that should I get that far. I really think he will. Take care all.

Wow Jeremy, that is pretty spectacular! I did not have much success this year either. I tried not brumating and I'm guessing that had something to do with it.

Well you will have to open a booth at the local circus for that guy! I once had a black pine die full term, ( it did not pip) so I opened it up to find a baby with one head and two bodies! I kick myself for not getting a photo. One was normal sized and the other was a bit smaller and shriveled looking but the one head was normal looking. I also once had a vertebralis that did not pip so I opened it up to find a living HEADLESS baby in the egg. Perfect body that was moving and functional but w/out a head!

I definetly like your living two header better that either of the two I "hatched"

keep us posted once in a while as to how he fares........

A living body without a head? One head with two bodies? You could have filmed a Twilight Zone episode at your place John! Every day I get home from work and rush to the snake room to make sure he's okay. He is deep into blue now and I am almost certain that he'll need assistance shedding. I am very anxious to get him his first meal and the xrays done.

BTW, your black and golds are sweet. Nice job there! Take care.
