I try to feed my hatchlings on the day they shed. Some will eat right away and some take another week.

And some will eat before their first shed! Just depends on the snake. I usually start trying to feed a clutch within a day or two after they begin shedding, but often someone in the clutch hasn't shed yet, and they'll still eat. And then there are those stubborn ones that insist on not eating ever. Hopefully you won't run into any of those. Good luck next year!
