Vietnamese Blue Beauty

jaymiller242 Aug 05, 2009 11:29 PM

Hi guys, Im new to this Forum. I usually spend all of my time in the Ball Pythons Forum since all of the snakes I have are Balls except this one, A Vietnamese Blue Beauty and a couple of beautiful Stillwater Hypo Bull snakes I just picked up from Brad Chambers. I was just wondering if you guys or gals, especially anyone with the same Blue Beauty could maybe post some pictures or help me out with any paticulars of the snake. I have had it from a hatchling and now it is well over 6' long. I just keep it in a Vision 422 type cage and basically other than the cage difference its prety much treated like my Ball Pythons. Kept in the same room with relativly high humidity and fed a rat every week or 10 days. Seems to be doing great other than having a nasty attitude and thinking anything that moves like fingers, heads, you name it, is food....lol. I call it Blue since it is a Blue Beauty but I was just wanting any info I might need on care other than what I am doing and wondering if anyone had any pictures of their own that they wanted to post.. Thanks for your time and help in advance, Jay from Sunny AZ.

well, i don't have any blues but i have a pair of ridley. i believe they are closely related. my ridleyi were very nippy for about the first 6 months or so. the male tamed down fairly quickly but the female took a little longer. mine are just plain pets, so i handled them often to get them used to me. they are to the point now that neither one strikes once out, but the female still will musk. i kept them very humid while hatchlings but once about 3 ft i eased off and only have a moist box inside their enclosure. i have not found much info on ridleyi. you might have more feedback on the blues. it seems more people are working with them. i don't know why they aren't more common. i think mine are great personally in pics are the male top and female bottom both at a yr of age.

Those are a couple of very good looking snakes. For all intents and purposes the head on your yellow one is exactly like the Blue Beauty. Those are great pictures and when Iget a now USB cord for my camera I will get a good picture of Blue to put on here. Thanks for your pictures. Why is it that not so many peple have these ? Is it that people dont really care for them or is it more along the lines of them being so new in the country? I would tend to think its the latter.
