Hello,

We are a non-profit organization and charge no fees. We are affliated with THE GREEN IGUANA SOCIETY and LION COUNTRY SAFARI. We recieve referrals on released and escaped Iguanas in the 'wilds' of Southern Florida.
We rescue, medicate, and find homes for these lizards. We do need a good source further south in the Miami area to provide the same service. We recieve many calls and E-mails from this area which is a little to distant for us. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. and in our area, feel free to contact us if you need help. For other areas of the country and world, Contact the GREEN IGUANA SOCIETY directly for help.

Sincerely,
Brian

Hey, Brian. Are you receiving lots of Iguanas from R. Dupont. I was just there the other day and in an hour and a half span, there were 2 iguanas dropped off. Its funny(sad, actually), one of them was dropped off in a cardboard box sealed with duct tape. The person that dropped it off, said it was a "crazy and a mean lizard" . Hehe, no wonder.

COOL! I didn't know you were a neighbor, maybe I'll bump into you there sometime. No, I don't but Ron doesn't take in too many Ig's anymore as the market is flooded with them. He does take in unwanted Pythons and Boas I arranged in referrals from Lion Country.

I have long Blonde hair, wear a SFCRC badge and drive a Yellow Rhino 202-T. If you spot me there, definately sat hello. I met a woman from the Skunk forum from Royal Palm Beach. It can be a small world after all.

Sincerely,
Brian

Hey, Brian. Im closer to you guys than I thought. I live in loxahatchee/ the acreage. I didn't know you were situated in Lion Country Safari, right around the corner.

Yeah he(Ron) told me he wasn't taking them in. But you know Ron. They usually just drop em off in a hurry and he cant say no.

Maybe we can hook up sometime. I'll show you my collection. Not big but well kept. Id love to see what you guys are up to. Sounds very cool!Email me anytime. Best of Luck!

I have just called my local Animal Control Shelter to let them know I would do what I could to help foster/rescue reptiles. Iguanas and reptiles in general are getting a bad break from the petstores and disreputable breeders!
I am mostly a dog/cat person, but after adopting RC, my first Iguana and having so much fun with him, I adopted another one from a friend of mine at work. Another lady at work has one and she had wanted to adopt it, but I know the care and food she gives hers is as good as she can, but not near what the poor thing needs. (I keep trying to give tips on feeding and care subtly).
Living in the North Central Florida region, I can let RC outside 24/7 right now. Soon of course I will have to bring them (RC and Jeep [name for new iguana]) in for the winter, but I have room for two of them. I will enclose my shed soon and I could probably keep another three or four out there if/when the need comes!
I am glad to see Florida's reptile lovers uniting for the cause! Keep up the good work!
