Hello all, I am currently breeding my own rats. I have two colonies (starting a third) and due to more snakes, and larger size I want to start breeding rabbits. I am considering a 3.1 colony. Each rabbit in its own 2x2 cage, with auto watering, and fed daily. I will have removable waste trays for easy cleaning and plan on cleaning every 5 days. I am considering California rabbits due to their size. I plan on only raising the rabbit to pinkies or weanies before feeding.

Am I missing something?

Rodent pro is a joke in my situation. I would need to order over $400 worth of rabbits, half of that is shipping. Then I need to store $400 worth of rabbits..

where I live rabbits don't breed during the summer months and for several months during the winter. so collectively there's only about 6 months they breed. which leaves you with 6 months of no babies.

We are having problems right now getting 4 lb rabbits.

When we get better set up to breed rabbits- they will be air conditioned/heated so I don't have temp problems and they will breed all year.

Beyond that, we haven't really done much breeding but good luck and I know how you feel on the rodent pro thing- we used to do it and we'd buy 300 bucks of stuff that sat forever.
