Travelling without lizard: Lizardaycare?

Snakey Aug 06, 2009 10:14 PM

I'm just curious as to what you do while on travel and how you deal with your large lizard. It's much too difficult to remove and transport enclosures so what do YOU do? Let's say scenario wise if you leave for. Week, what measures do you take? Now, you know I have a small whitethroat. I got job orders to leave for 5 work days. What would you do. I can break out my 55 gal out o storage and she can dump food in. She's a little afraid of crickets, etc but if prey items are dead she can. But if it's 6ft long what do you do when you've been in these situations.

And what about a small fry? Dump 150 crickets?

Just curious....

Contact a local herp society or reptile rescue and see if they have anyone willing to do reptile baby sitting. I have friends that I pay to come in. Plus a 6 foot monitor can be fed 1 time while gone. Some would say 5 days is nothing to worry about leaving it. Personally I prefer someone daily to peek in on my collection.
