Please let me see ur pink pastel adults

eksnek Aug 07, 2009 02:12 PM

Hi guys/gals. I recently purchased a het pink pastel male. And looking to get a het female soon. But now i have some doubt as to whether or not to work with this morph. Having not seen this morph in person, i rely on the pics on the net. Which was very impressive. But i recently saw a few pics of them and they do not look as pink anymore after they grow up. They kinda look like normal albinos to me. I would like to see everyone else's adult pink pastels so i can decide whether or not to pursue this morph.

Thanks In Advance,
Kenny

I was going to post this in the below thread but this will also give you an idea of adult pinks and how they vary.

The purple one is parent to the female posted on my below message from yesterday. The other is also pink pastel line but has a different coloration altogether.
I have also seen a red on pink adult owned by Chad Fuchs. Silver on white is quite common for adults and also bubblegum pink.
Hope this helps to sway you toward the pinks.

Will you be producing any babies this year from that purple female listed in the bottom picture? She is real nice!

WOW! It's colors like the hog in your 2nd pic that made me decide to get into this morph. That is what I would like to hatch one day . I guess I need to choose the right line to get my het. female from. Thanks for the reply!

Yes, the PPA's will definitely change colors over their first couple of years into adulthood as do most snakes but imho they are still no less of a spectacular looking animal. Here's mine when I originally got them:

Berry (2007)

Sherry (2007)

And them together in 2009 (Berry on the left, Sherry on the right)

While they've seemed to lose some of that bubblegum pinkish color, Berry more than Sherry, I think they are still outstanding animals and I can't wait to see how they further change over the next couple of years.

I think you will be very happy if you stick with the PPA project.

Nice couple! They look even better with age. For me, Berry resembles the coloration that I'd expect. With the exception of her head, Sherry kinda looks like a very...very nice normal albino. Not sure if it's the setting on my screen but I will look at the pics again on Monday. I want to see it on my screen at work. Nonetheless, they are both awesome looking PPAs.

Here's a young adult male. Less pink than when a hatchling, but I still like them better than hypos.

That is a sweet pink! I really like the color on him. I am once again convinced that this is one sweet morph to have in one's collection. Thanks for the reply.

Kenny
