I was just curious because in a certain classifieds i saw an as for an over 12 foot boa that weighed over 130 pounds. I know its probabaly blown out of proportion but even if it was 11 feet and 80 pounds that would be the biggest boa i had ever heard of or seen.
ACTUALLY THAT SNAKE I'M HOLDING WAS CONSIDERABLY OVER 12" LONG. LOOK AT CHRIS AT OVER 6' TALL AND DO THE MATH LOOKING AT THE KINKS IN THE SNAKE. ALSO CHECK OUT THE HEAD SIZE ON THE WILD ONE I'M HOLDING COMPARED TO THE ONE JEFF IS HOLDING...

The largest I am aware of were some I spoke with Porras about back in the late 80’s that were northern Peruvians imported by Bill Chase. Those Bcc’s were enormous, but many were never actually taped. I believe he said the largest one was estimated at close to 15 feet, but never accurately measured. It seems that most of the largest boas on record come from the area around southern Colombia, northern Peru, and western Brazil. The largest Bcc that I am aware of that was actually accurately measured was right at 15 feet. I have not seen any records of Bcc that were taped at over 15 feet. Murphy and Henderson estimate that the record Bcc is somewhere between 15 and 16 feet, but don’t have any actual specimen data. From all the data I have seen, that is probably about dead on. At least the size estimates and so-called measurements for Bcc are not nearly as exaggerated as those seen for green anacondas.

Kelly that snake I'm holding was close to or over 14'. The Burnett Park Zoo in NY bought it and had it for 9 more years and said it grew even larger. When it died I was told the weight was considerably over 100 lbs...Later I sent one very close to that size to the San Diego Zoo...

This was a 15 year old female Surinam. She is around 10ft now that would be my guess as to her size.
