I thought the Chocolates were supposed to have dark center belly scales - no? I am no expert on these however..

Its funny you mention having a difficult time finding marker trait info. I was just discussing this topic with a couple people some months back and we all noticed the same trend. I am not sure how this relates to the Choc./Cammo, which has been around for a bit, but it seems like many people think that by keeping this (marker trait) info under wraps, they may believe they can better control their projects and give the cash end longer legs?

I said funny because it may indeed help to control a project and its secrets from getting out, but this tactic also confuses the heck out of people and causes more disinterest than anything else. When you cant understand how something works, then you cant really fully appreciate it, never mind being fascinated enough to where you "have to have one" and then be willing to spend 1, 3 or 5k on it.

Ball Pythons are a luxury for all but a few people, they are not a neccesity. The worst is when I see people using terms like 'Special', 'Secret' or 'Hidden' to describe the trait. This just plain pisses people off and they lose interest.

Sorry to get off topic in a way, but it reminded me of this when you said about locating the information on traits.

got to agree with on that, anouther thing that makes me skratch my head is most of the ones you see are het ghost or possible het ghost witch leads me to believe that the Bells bred there chocolates into there ghost line somewere along the way.

You are right Chocolates have a mottled belly -- best I can tell they kinda of look like a phantom and a sable mix.

Your best bet, might be to call BHB.

Here is a picture of a chocolate on their store.
