looks like something stained it. Mold? Paper towels? I doubt it will still be there after the shed.

nuthnbutbalz Aug 09, 2009 07:36 AM

looks like maybe you used methylene blue in your substrate to prevent fungus and it stained its skin.

Looks like the snake has been stained. As for the genetics its 50%het pied by a clownish type female. Right?

414reptiles Aug 09, 2009 03:51 PM

lol your very close lol. I bought a number of het pieds years ago and never had luck on the odds het x het so i figured id let the female switch partners. Its in theory 50% het pied which im leaning towards normal. The mother throws really reduced pattern babies which have stretched brown bands instead of the traditional ET pattern. As far as the blue goes it is marker. I wanted to mark that particular snake as first hatch and used a blue marker.... the marker rubbed off a bit so i went a little bold with it... the pic came out so bright i had to use it a little ...sorry if it came off wrong to anyone just figured id have a little fun

The answer was in your photo. Your masking tape stated Het Pied to clownish female.... I just took the time to read the picture.

414reptiles Aug 09, 2009 04:23 PM

yeah not many people paid attention to that lol

Watever Aug 09, 2009 01:38 PM

So it's a het pied to clownish female ?

And the snake also look like it's a pastel.

I would like to know more on these genetics if it ever happen to prove or not. What ever, please keep me updated.

I would believe it's more of a egg development problem than stain or something like that but well, let's find out
