Should be I concerned about this?

twmedford23 Aug 09, 2009 01:58 AM

I noticed that the nostrils on my Black Rat were looking a little inflamed, for lack of a better word. His snout also looks a little dry - he shed about a month ago. I looked at closeups of other rat snakes and didn't found anything similar. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Should I make an appointment with the vet? Thanks in advance.

Impossible to say exactly without seeing it though, maybe nose rubbing??. Many times if conditions aren't correct in their environment, snakes will constantly be looking for a way to escape to more favorable conditions, thus pressing and rubbing their snouts constantly.

Don't worry.LOL!, the same exact thing has happened to all of us before, believe me..haha!
