Albino Clutches....

dmasio13 Aug 09, 2009 03:00 AM

Well this is the 2nd year that this has happened and I was wondering who else has had this happen when breeding a het to visual recessive. I bred an albino male last year to a female that laid 3 good eggs and 1 slug, I also bred the same male to an unrelated (to the male or the other het female) het female thi season and she laid 4 good and 1 slug this season. Both clutches I got all albinos it seems the male I have throws somewhere in the 75 percentile of visuals the past 3 seasons all but these 2 clutches. Thanks for looking......

I've also noticed some given recessive animals always throwing higher % of visuals, general consensus says that it all evens out in the end BUT I've noticed the same on some animals over a 3 year breeding window.

Congrats

The odds see fairly accurate for me. The best I did was 6 albinos out of 7 eggs.

Since the albino can only give albino genes -- the odds whether good or bad are with the hets that you have been pairing him with -- not with the male.

That being said -- my albino's (and every other project) have good years, bad years and even years. In the end it comes out fairly even.
