hkwagner5 Aug 09, 2009 09:59 AM

Well I finally did it. I have four Lesser Clowns hathcing out right now. The first one is a boy and I can say that I am very pleased with the results! I know that a ton of you were waiting for this!

I don't usually post much, but I must say hands down that is one of the most awesome balls I've seen. Want to see after their first shed. You have put out some amazing stuff. Congrats

Nice looking snake for sure ! I'd see if you can find a bigger tub for him as I don't think that one is large enough.

So you had 4 in one clutch , if you used just a pair of Lesser Het Clowns I'd say that's some very high odds in your favor!

So what did that female from Tracy end up laying BTW for you Brock ? 8 eggs with your luck I bet. She would have laid by now and I am surprised I haven't heard about that clutch on here yet.

Actually the more I thought about it you must have used just a regular Clown male back to a lesser Het Clown otherwise you'd probably have a white snake next to that Lesser Clown. That would also better explain getting 4 in one clutch as that doubles your odds. Wonder if you'd be able to tell if that white snake from Lesser Het Clown x Lesser Het Clown was also a Clown or not? Something for you to work on now Brock. A Super Lesser Clown (hopefully male) would have been what I would have tried for using a pair of Lesser Clown Hets. I would have rolled the dice that way even with twice as tough of odds. Because regardless of if you could see Clown in that white snake or not just think of the value that snake would have as a breeder once you proved him out as a BEL Clown! Don't say I never gave you any ideas Brock!

My bet would be a lesser het clown male to a clown female.

Since it take less time to grow male up than female.

Super Lesser Clown would be a power gem for breeding. Pair him up with a Clown or het clown female, and you will have more lesser clown

Or with a Pastel Clown for Pastel Lesser Clown WOW

Well, let me say that lesser clown is amazing. Anyone who isn't in this hobby, couldn't believe that this is a Ball Python with that kind of color and pattern.

love this world, don't hate it.

anthony james mc Aug 09, 2009 01:39 PM

That works too , either way would get you there. The adult Clown female would be easier to have up to size so that does make sense why you say that .

snakesatsunset Aug 09, 2009 05:26 PM

Why couldnt it have been a lesser het clown male to a clown female?

Thats really a nice snake. Not too many set a standard, and this one does (IMHO). This is not something you want to make another snake. This is the kind of snake you want to own all by itself.

Very, very nice.
