The Super Pastel vanilla and Super pastel Ghost, looks like super pastel and ghost, I don't really see the influence of the vanilla gene in them. You can see the pastel vanilla being more yellow and soft than a regular pastel.

But I am not familiar with the gene.

The vanilla cream is wonderful and the mojave too.

Good luck with everything else

The amazing thing about vanillas is they improve with time.

Wow I love the adult super vanilla pastel it is so clean. Really makes the colors amazing.

So, weighing my options, I will probably take my Sulfur Mojave male to my Pastel Vanilla female, based on your pics, and what I have. I think the base Vanilla is pretty underwhelming. I do like the Super, and I like the Mojave and Fire crosses. I just wonder about a morph where you have a hard time telling morph from normal.

Dave,

If you have ever hatched one you would see it's really not hard at all. I'd say equivalent to hatching eggs from fire x normal. Out of 9 vanilla x normal clutches, I've only hatched one animal that was borderline. But I do need to get me an 08 fire/sulfur male soon though, can't live with myself without making a vanilla fire this comming up season.

I've always been a vanilla fan, but the vanilla cream (fire x vanilla) is much more amazing than I would have predicted. Guess I'll have to rethink my projects, again....

Hey Josh, Was GCR's Fire a proven fire (Did it produce Lucy's)
Because that Vanilla X Fire has similarities to S-Ecto's Super Discos. We thought we had fires and expected BEL's. But they don't produce Lucys they produce the Super Disco morph. Now I am wondering is the Fires, Vanillas, and Discos have a connection.

yes their animal is a fire from a proven line. Also, this disco morph, has it been bred into other things yet? It's almost like a super vanilla but not quite as extreme, maybe some possibility there with it.

We've talked to a lot of people about the disco. And no one seems to think it's a vanilla. But the possibility of compatibility has entered our minds. So far we have Pastel Discos, one Opal Disco, and we are waiting on a possible Spider Disco and Opal Super Disco clutch. Pictures of everything and the story behind it is on our site. We've had these animals since 2000. Proven co-dom since 2004. But we hadn't produced a Super form until this year. We have had several Disco X Disco clutches with the same outcome. The Disco looks very much like a fire. Which is why we expected BEL's.
That's cool to know what Fire X Vanilla makes though. I very much like the Vanilla Cream.

very nice, i like that combo alot. there's nothing like a morph that makes screaming yellow and jet black animals with blue blushing.

Thank you so much for posting these pictures because the vanilla
morph is something that I'll be getting into next and wanted to see the combos with using the vanilla gene.

kinderman Aug 10, 2009 02:58 PM
