Hi-
I would not worry about having to many plants with the three you listed. I don't know what size cage you have, but all sounds good. Crickets will crawl up the screen of the cage so the chameleon should not have any problems catching food. A bowl or cup works okay as well, if the chameleon will eat out of it. Make sure you provide a basking area, bio vines work great for this. Either a Veiled or Panther will make a great first time chameleon, I am partial to the F. pardalis locales, others are the same with Veileds. Rainbow panther doesn't tell us much, it could be a few different locales. There are many different breeders and lots of both on the classifieds. I would be cautious about buying a panther with out seeing a pic of the parents, unless you don't mind what the chameleon will look like. You get what you pay for. There is allot of pictures in the kingsnake photo galleryHope this helps!
