Help.......Hatchling with hard belly

wonzzer Aug 09, 2009 11:17 PM

My wife surprised me yesterday at the reptile expo and bought me a female hatchling pied. She has a hard belly about 1/2" diameter in her lower body. (Hard yolk?) I took it back to the breeder and asked about it. He said he fed her twice already AND cleaned out her tub. Can they poop with a blockage like this? I was told from all the other breeders at the expo to try soaking her and message it, The person I bought it from told me to try to use mineral oil as an enima. He did say that if she dies, he will make it right, but I love the low white and I really really want to save her. I can't find ANY info on hard bellies on the net. Only pix in McCurley's book. I don't want to feed her yet. Please help.

Well, I just soaked her for about 10 minutes in 82-85 degree water and she started corkscrewing badly. This doesn't look good. Im gonna try to return her to the breeder. Boo Hoo
