Feeding F/T

SD_Dan Aug 10, 2009 05:02 PM

I live in the middle of nowhere with the nearest pet store 3 hours away. I want to breed ball pythons but am concerned that will not have access to live food for the baby balls. Is it possible to just offer frozen thawed to the newborns or will I have to have live available?
Thanks...Dan

You could just keep a small colony of mice going. A lot of mice never get bigger than hopper size if you keep their population pretty dense. But then, you would have to maintain the mice as well.

Most of my babies take f.t. rat pups for their first meal - some of the smaller ones f.t. mouse hoppers. It is very rare that I need to go get live feeders for my babies -- but you could always keep a small colony just in case.
