Clearly 2 duds and three maybe's.. No incubator, VERY dry vermiculite/Perilite mixture, but I covered them with a clean damp (NOT WET) paper towel from day one.. So far so good this season!!
Hope all is well with you guys..

Is that all from 1 clutch?
To get that many from one alterna you would have eggs that look like tic tacs.

or a 27 foot Alterna!!
It would be nice though!!
That box has 6 clutches in it...

I thought it was to good to be true! LOL!
How do you keep track of who laid what?
I'm wondering the same thing. Separating the clutches would be best. IMO.

Depending on whom he bought them from, and if it was any of a half dozen different breeders, it may not make any difference.

Jeez.. kind of hard on me there.. I keep every clutch labled with id#'s, dates, and egg counts.. I know exactly what eggs came from what female..
Sometimes I am sorry I even bother to post on this forum..

Read it again, clearly it's not you I'm ragging on.

Then I guess I am slow today Joe..
To answer the questions... I have NEVER had an issue keeping track of my eggs.. When they begin cutting out I move the entire clutch to a shoebox and when they hatch/shed out they go into my hatchling racks and each animal is issued an ID#..
I put each of these clutches into this box, so it may be easier for me, but I am sure at least a few of you could clearly see the 6 different clutches in this egg box?

Mike,
Hopefully my honest question didn't offend you. I will admit that I'm a little paranoid after my limpia canyon debacle. I thought that guy knew what he was doing too. Congrats on a good crop and please keep posting...
Andrew
Mike it seems like you have it down pat.. I'm just going by what I do. I seperate them because with my luck I'd have multiple clutches hatch when I'm not here or something and create a mixup. Good luck with the hatches.

Don't worry you guys lol. Mikes got it, he knows what he's doing.
By the way, it is always exciting to hear news of hatchlings from you Mike! Too bad 2 or 3 eggs went bad =(. Are these 277s? Keep us updated bro!

You can never have only one snake!
I kind'a think it might be a good idea to put them in seperate boxes from now one or don't post a pic. I have multiple clutches hatching at the same time and it would be to easy to get a couple mixed up. Just my two cents I would want to know forsure what came out of what especially if a albino or funky thing came out
KC.
I might mix a corn snake batch in there, but if you can not figure out which is what at that point you should not be trying.

I had mutiple clutches of the same local hatch out at the same time
I like to keep track of the adult females to see which is producing
the coolest stuff.
Also if I get alterna from a breeder I want to know who the parents
are and not a ? I don't think that's to much to ask from a true
local breeder
But like I said I might mix a corn snake clutch with a thayeri clutch and so on, easy to sort out even if they all pop out on the same night.
However some local breeders will put a female with multiple males of the proper locality, either for combat or just to up the fertility odds. So you might still have a bit of a paternity question there.

I know guys use multiple males but I like to use one on one also to make sure that the male is fertile.
