Hello. Anyone know the natural range of the Banana or yellow C. pectinata? Can't find the range anywhere for that color morph. Thanks, Don.

Hello. Anyone know the natural range of the Banana or yellow C. pectinata? Can't find the range anywhere for that color morph. Thanks, Don.
I heard they have come out of Puerto Vallarta and Oaxaca, Mexico.
Thanks for the info, really aprreciate it. Take care, Don.
I posted the wrong picture. Here is the right picture.
Couple of young males and one about 6 yrs old. I believe Mark M has done some traveling in Mexico as well he may have some input.

I have traveled a bit in Mexico. I can only speak of a few areas that I had found them. This may surprise a few. One is a little town less than ten miles south of the state of Sonora border called Chimobampo. This is rugged and impovrished areas where the locals still eat them. I have also found them approx. 125 miles north of Mazatlan and inland from the ocean approx 25 miles. Again a very impovrished areas and towns not found on map books. As yellow as they are they can be very dificult to spot. The pectinata has a huge range and I am sure there are other areas with in its range where they exist. What is interesting is less then 50 miles north of where I have seen pectinata's I have seen ctenosaura hemilopha macrolopha. this is just my opinion there needs to be work done on the range of many of Mexico's herps
Kelly
Thanks alot. Hope to some day travel again to Mexico and see some different herp species. Take care, Don.
How does one get Kelly and Manny out of the cave? Say "banana pectinata"-lol. Good to know you guys are still lurkin around. Hope to talk soon!
Time are harder than ever! lol
Amen to that brother!
I know I'm late on this posting but I was in Mexico while it was posted. Did you mean Chinobampo a little ways outside of El Fuerte? I always thought that area was C. hemilopha. It seems that maybe C. hemilopha doesn't range as far south as most think. I'm pretty sure that C. hemilopha is the species in Batopilas, Chihuahua and other low land canyons in that state.
