First time feeding today, my RTB took the prey item fast and loose like some kind of funky 1970's bass guitarist. After however, he burrowed into his substrate...forget the hides in his cage...burrowed...anyone ever heard of this before?

He probably was worried that you night try and take it back.
Does he have a hide in his cage?
Years ago I had a 'tangerine dream', Honduran Milksnake that was
like that. She had no problems eating dead rats, but she would
wait until I turned around & wasn't looking in her direction
to get them. It was comical. She was consistant about it.
He has 2 hides, one hot one cold.
