Guess Who's Coming Over For Dinner?????

fgs Aug 12, 2009 01:35 PM

I was a vendor at the San Jose Herp World Expo this past weekend. My wife was also there selling raffle tickets. She totally surprised me when she came up to me Sunday afternoon as I was putting my animals away and told me to hury up because Nigel Marven was coming over for dinner. I can't tell you how excited I was when I finally realized that she was serious.

Nigel had bought a van in Florida and drove it out to San Jose California to be a guest speaker at our show. My wife figured that he must have been tired of eating resurant food so she invited him to come over for some enchiladas. He told me later how could he turn down a mexican meal made by a mexican woman.

I can't tell how much fun it was sitting aroung my dinner table swapping stories and laughing with Nigel. Jim and Mary Alexander the promoters of Herp World Expo joined us and it was great evening.

Here are a few photos my wife and I took as I gave Nigel a tour through my snake den.

Here I am showing Nigel one of my adult pieds.

It was a great show and fantastic way to end the weekend.

Thanks Babe .......

I'd actually have a good time having dinner with you Brian. We spoke briefly at your booth and then you got pretty busy. I've always watched your postings and progress in this great hobby and admire your style and charm. Everytime I've seen you you're smiling. You can tell you're happy to be doing what you're doing. I definately want to buy one of your blushing female mojaves one of these days. Cheers to you.

Charlton:

Thanks so much for the kind words. I honestly enjoy every aspect of this hobby / business.
Here is a photo I took last night of one of my mojaves. I'm now calling my line of mojaves the gold blush mojaves. This year's hatchlings have more color than ever before. Next year I hope to produce several super gold blush mojaves.

I'd have to say I agree with that-- There are several people here I would love to have dinner with... Tosha, Dale, Charlton/Angie and fam. , Brian, Then of course the big breeders-- southerlands, Garrick, Robyn...

Ugh! *drool*

Would love to pick everyone's brain lol- I read nearly every post here and on several other forums-- When my b/f walks by and sees the whole page is purple, he asks what I've learned lol!

I am totally jealous!!!

Man, what a great story and time! I was just watching Nigel the other day in his Anaconda Adventure episode and I was thinking to myself that he seemed very genuine and nice. You had an unbeatable offer it seems of good company, snakes & great mexican food. How could he go wrong with that. Really, really nice Brian.
