A couple weeks ago I posted pics of some hatchlings I thought might be prairie kings. I caught the first one at night on the road 12 miles away. The next day, after an hour or so checking it out, taking pictures, and reading about it I caught another under my back screen door. Well, last wednesday night after feeding them (they both take f/t pinkys with no trouble) I noticed the cat sitting next to a black lump in the back yard.

It's a big adult male (450g). Olive green and grey (most of the pics I've seen are more orange), and cranky. Lots of bluff striking, lots of head bobbing. Barely a real nip and once he had a couple days to settle down he was more than happy to start eating f/t hoppers.

I guess the best ones are the ones you didn't expect to find
