3) Man Who Owned Snake That Killed 2-Year Old Arrested On Drug Charges ABCActionNews 8/7/09

OXFORD, FL -- The man whose pet snake killed his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter last month has been arrested on drug-related charges.

Deputies arrested 32-year-old Charles Darnell Friday afternoon following a one week investigation. According to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, undercover detectives bought cocaine from Darnell in front of his home on two separate occasions.

It's the same home where Darnell's 8 1/2 foot python strangled girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter, Shaiunna Hare, to death in July.

Darnell was pulled over just after 5 pm at the Bob's Jiffy Mart on Highway 44, where Darnell was taken into custody.

He is charged with two counts of sale of cocaine, two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to sell, two counts of unlawful use of a two-way communication device and two counts of keep shop for dangerous drugs.

He is in the Sumter County Jail on a $110,000 bond.

Prosecutors haven't decided whether Darnell or the girl's mother, Jaren Hare, should be charged with wrongdoing Shaiunnna's death.

At the time Darell told deputies he put the snake in an unlocked cage the night before, then found the snake in the bed on top of the girl when he woke up, according to authorities.

On a side note, I just heard today that another infant has died here in Central Texas from being left locked in a car unattended. I think that is the second one this summer. It's only been over 100 degrees here for over 50 days so far this year. Who to blame this on? Perhaps the car?

Using that poor little girl's death to promote the propaganda is perhaps the most disgraceful aspect of all of this. Even assuming the mother's scumbag boyfriend (who has since been charge with dealing cocaine) didn't kill the girl and "frame" the python, the statistics don't lie, they actually show that pythons present virtually no risk to the public or to "the children." The statistics show that:

- Python owners are actually doing a good job with safety
- Pythons are just not the dangerous, evil monsters they are portrayed to be by the propaganda machine

Even the HSUS report on fatalities shows that only 2 or 3 children have been killed by large constrictors, and only a dozen or so total humans have been killed OVER THE LAST 29 YEARS.
NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THESE CASES INVOLVED A PYTHON THAT HAD ESCAPED OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.

According to one website, 438 children died from being
left in a hot car BETWEEN 1998 and 2009.

According to the National Weather Service, lighting strikes kill 58 people EVERY YEAR (and many of those are in Florida).

According to the CDC, 500 or so people die from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Dog's kill at least a dozen or so and seriously injure thousands of people EVERY YEAR.

According to the CDC, foodborne diseases cause 5,000 death PER YEAR, with salmonella leading the way.

EVERY YEAR hundreds of human bicyclists die from head injuries that could have been prevented had the person been wearing a helmet.

EVERY YEAR dozens of children are abused/killed by their own parents.

According to the CDC, "Half of the 306 child passengers ages 14 and younger who died in alcohol-related crashes in 2006 were riding with drivers who had a BAC level of .08 or higher."

According to the Bureau of Justice, "About 1 million violent crimes occurred in 2002 in which victims perceived the offender to have been drinking at the time of the offense. Among those victims who provided information about the offender's use of alcohol, about 30% of the victimizations involved an offender who had been drinking.

Two-thirds of victims who suffered violence by an intimate (a current or former spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend) reported that alcohol had been a factor. Among spouse victims, 3 out of 4 incidents were reported to have involved an offender who had been drinking. By contrast, an estimated 31% of stranger victimizations where the victim could determine the absence or presence of alcohol were perceived to be alcohol-related. "

Where is the outcry to ban bikes, dogs, parents, going outside and staying inside (that's a dilemma), cars, alcohol, eating lettuce, going to petting farms, etc.??

I think we should blame the child's death on the sun. If only we could figure out a way to get rid of the sun, all our problems would be solved!

I honestly like the way you think.

John,

As the members of the Chicago "machine" describe it...A tragedy is a terrible opportunity to waste (or something like that)...

Anything that furthers the biodiversity conservation/invasive species issue (along with climate change and sustainable land management), is what they are looking for to use as propaganda to implement their agenda...

Speaking of land use management (socialized collectivization of America's private lands)...Copy/paste this link below and read this.

Defenders of Wildlife, “Buying, Selling and Trading Biodiversity in Washington: A Bazaar for Biodiversity by Bartholomew McGuire Martin, February 2007
http://www.[url ban]/resources/publications/programs_and_policy/biodiversity_partners/buying,_selling_and_trading_biodiversity_in_washington.pdf

This paper is a chilling read...The word "ecoregion" has a "new" meaning and the USEPA will have a "new" job...

If your Congressman hasn't read this (and supports the Constitution), they should...

Later,
Jim.

I've already come up with something but it only works at night.

prosecutor who can nail the scumbag boyfriend for the kid's death. The facts do NOT add up to death by snake. They DO add up to death by strangulation by drug-adled jerk of a boyfriend.

I agree. I sent a message to the Florida Attorney General simply stating that if they aren't already looking into foul play, they should be. It will probably get ignored, but if anyone else wants to do this just do a web search on "Attorney General of Florida".

I'd hate to think there is a cover-up going on, but if it turns out the snake did not kill the girl, that would make the Governor, Senator Nelson and the Animal Rights crazies look stupid.
