Guyana BARRAGE!

Jonathan_Brady Aug 14, 2009 06:02 PM

I've talked to some other Guyana enthusiasts and we all agree that Guyana BCC are like the lepers of the BCC community. We all want that to stop! lol

Hopefully some pics of a few of my favorite animals will convince you that they're JUST as beautiful as the Surinames!

Not bad looking after 8 years and two litters which made her lose her womanly figure

Her at over 2 years old, in her prime! Just GLOWING a few days after a meal

Some of her '07 kids. The female

The male

Some of her '08 kids

The male is on the bottom of the picture, female on the top.

Obviously the female is attention grabbing with her color, but the male has a ROCKIN pattern that's VERY bold! Just like his old man, seen below:

This guy is a relatively recent import and I don't have any recent pictures of him, but here's an older pic.

He doesn't quite have the color I look for in my animals, but we'll give him some time to see how he develops. He's not even 500 grams yet.

Here's another special Guyana female. I picked her up earlier this year from a really nice guy who's had some VERY unique Guyanans, but had to sell her due to military obligations. THANK YOU UNCLE SAM!! lol

WHAT A TAIL STRIPE!!!

And my most recent acquisition, another very recent import who absolutely blows my mind. His tail is THE nicest shade of red of ANY of my Guyanans, I LOVE his muted contrast and his lateral coloration is just insane! It's like a VERY pale white guy (such as myself, lol) got sunburned REALLY bad. It's such an intense pink that it's actually irridescent pink/purple! TOO SMOKIN!

I'm looking forward to pairing him with Rose. And probably her '08 daughter with the ridiculous color and slightly muted contrast too!

It's funny, a LOT of people will swear up and down all day long that Suriname BCC and Guyana BCC are the same snake, but they wouldn't be caught dead buying a Guyana! lol In fact, sometimes, when the Guyana DOES actually get purchased, it magically becomes a Suriname at the new owners discretion! lol I find that hilarious! I'm not aware of ANYONE, EVER, "changing" the country of origin for a Suriname to a Guyana, but it definitely happens in reverse!

If you have a Guyana that you think can add to the cause of getting folks to love Guyanans, post it!!!

By the way, this is just a fun post - not trying to pick a fight!

nice pics, I have always wanted a BCC but never ended up getting one YET. I am still in debate about what kind to get tho that one you have with the stripe tail is a killer looking animal

Here are some of the Guyana's I use to own. They are still one of my favorite BCC boas. One of these days I will get back in to them and I will be calling you JB as I love the Rose line you have.

Take care
Tom

That is the SICKEST Guyanan collection out there hands down, all those animals fit into the "CHOICE" bracket, very select. Very nice JB, see you down in Daytona. I love that last male, man did you beat me to him, that one slipped away. At least I know he's in the right hands! Make SURE I AM the FIRST on the waiting list!!!

JB,
I think you have the best group of Guyana BCC....PERIOD. The sentence below describe in detail what you are trying to accomplish and I really admired that from you.......

"In fact, evolution can be precisely defined as any change in the frequency of alleles within a gene pool from one generation to the next."
- Helena Curtis and N. Sue Barnes, Biology, 5th ed. 1989 Worth Publishers, p.974

Here is a couple more images from Guyana BCC....

These two were the product of two WC parents from the Essequibo Delta.....

Mr. EYELASH....a WC Guyana BCC....A couple of pics from him showing different stages of color transformation.

Here is a female WC Guyana.....

Another WC Guyana BCC.....

and Finally, Mr. WILDFIRE....a WC Guyana BCC..

Cool stuff ....

I cant imagine anyone calling the Guyana BCC a leper...even though we all know at this point Guyana/Suriname (at least in the trade) are the same, locales aside for the moment...Guyana Shield Boas...the variety and color in the Guyana complex is astounding and I cant get enough of them...Big Red sheds tomorrow (1st two pics) or Sunday so I will take some new pics and then here's one one of a another Essequibo locale who I call Primo (last pic)...trying to get some good pics of him, but he is feisty!
