Man, those things are striking when they hatch!

Now, if somebody would only work on putting together the orange/black JCP's...

That is just awesome Tom! How big/old are your girls when they start breeding? I love the aberrants amid the new hatches.

Cheers,
Kat

Todd, Yea!

Kat, My females have normally gone at 3-4 years and around 4 feet.

Thanks Tom

Wow you werent kidding about your lines not losing their color. Very nice. I noticed that a lot of your babies were showing aberrant patterns. Are you breeding for those traits or do some rings come out aberrant once in a while?

Tom Keogan Aug 16, 2009 04:14 PM

Tevie84, Thanks
Not a lot have come out aberrant. I get a few every once in a while. Nothing I am breeding for I actually prefer the ringed ringed pythons but some people really like the striped or aberrant pattern. This year I hatched more then normal aberrant ones but still only a few.
Which do you like?

ringed, the more perfect the better...

total adult size?..I thought they got bigger than 6 or 7
temps range they prefer?

JY, as in Joy? Scales and Tails Aussie? My Scales and Tails Australia magazine subscription just came due again!

6-7 feet is a good sized one. I have a 15 year old that is a solid 7 feet and she is a good sized ringed python? I think most adults are 5-7 foot on average.

Average python Temp range mid 70's to high 80's. They need a bit more humidity or they can have shedding problems. They are a bit thin skinned like a white lipped!

JY as in Jeffrey Yohe, Columbia ,PA....not near Aussey...LOL

...I wish.....

Thanxx.....not as big as I always thought they got...never asked or looked....see the babies for decades....and usually they brown out too much....yours stay pretty good....no matter what my wife said about them...LOL...
still don't think they'd fit into a BallRoom Raxx though....hmmm.....34 inch tubs.....naaaa.....

Thanxx again, good luck...!!!...

Its hard to pick between the two but if I had to pick it would be the ringed just because of the amazing contrast. The aberrant ones would be just something different to have. When I have the space and cash I will be contacting you when I decide to get one. Thanks.

them's some really NICE RINGS....

....congrats....not as brown as alot get....good contrasted adults...!...

"Will the cycle, be unbroken..."

Tom, I may not be at Daytona this weekend. I'll know tomorrow. If I am, I know where you'll be set up. Hope to see you.

If you outbreed the line that stays visible banded as adults to other lines how hard is it to get that back? Does that tendency seem to be a single gene mutation?

Also, what do the babies eat?

RandyRemington Sep 27, 2009 08:55 AM

Oh, and what is there temperment like?
